PORTSMOUTH — Two senior members of the Portsmouth High Patriots football team have recently signed commitments to play for colleges next year.

Last week, tight end and middle linebacker Adam Parsons signed his letter of commitment to play Division II football for the Bentley University Falcons in Waltham, Mass.

Meanwhile, middle linebacker and center Anthony (AJ) Cottrell has signed with Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay. He’ll play for the Buccaneers in Division III.

In December Sean Coyne, the Patriots’ standout senior quarterback, announced his commitment to play Division I football at the University of New Hampshire.

Two other senior members of the team are still undecided on what schools they will attend, according to PHS head football coach Ryan Moniz.

Last December, the PHS team beat Central for the Division I Super Bowl, distinguishing the squad as the best public school football team in the state.
