Tiverton residents race into water for a New Year's Day plunge

Tiverton residents raced into the frosty water at Grinnell's Beach at noon on New Year's Day. The temperature at plunge time was a balmy 50 degrees as swimmers raced into the water raised their hands in triumph and raced back to the beach to their towels. Oglers lined the sea wall along Main Street to view the spectacle which was over in five minutes.
