Pedaling safety first

In an effort to promote safety and prevent injuries from bicycle, scooter and skateboard accidents, the Rhode Island Association of Justice annually visits classrooms and distributes more than 500 bicycle helmets. Helmets were recently given to Robertson School fourth graders after they watched a video on using helmets. When the class was asked how many had had a bicycle accident, practically the entire class raised hands. Not as many, however, raised hands when asked if they wore a helmet.
