Memorial service for Rachel Carson planned for this weekend
A memorial service for 18-year-old Rachel Elizabeth Carson, who passed away unexpectedly on January 14, will be held this weekend.
A senior at Johnston Senior High School, Carson was a proud member of the band “A Capella” choral group, the Chemistry Club and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She loved the arts and sciences and was looking forward to performing with the Rhode Island All-State Band again for the sixth year. In the fall, she was to attend the University of Maine, where she planned to study wildlife ecology.
The memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 11 a.m. at the First Unitarian Church of Providence, located at 1 Benevolent Street in Providence.
