George W. Lewis Jr., 76, of Warren, died Saturday, January 6, 2018. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Turner) Lewis; they were married for over 56 years.

Born Fall River, a son of the late George W. and Julianna (Tavares) Lewis Sr.,

George was a warehouseman for Hasbro for over three years. Prior to that he was a heavy equipment operator for 15 years for Local 315 and a member of the Laborer's International Union 315.

He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Cuban crisis.

George had lived in Warren all of his life. He was a member of St. Michael's Church in Bristol.

He was a member of the Warren Portuguese-American Club, and he loved to travel and take cruises, go camping and boating, and also enjoyed music.

He was a New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons, Mark Lewis of Swansea and Eric Lewis of Bristol; a brother, Frank A. Lewis Sr. of Warren; three nephews and three grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, at Smith Funeral and Memorial Services, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren. Burial with Military Honors in South Burial Ground. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours are Thursday morning from 9 to 11am.
