PROVIDENCE — The East Providence High School boys' indoor track and field team opened up its 2016-17 Metro Division dual meet schedule Thursday night, Dec. 15, at the Providence Career & Tech Academy Field House with a split against Hope and Central.
The Townies defeated the Blue Wave, 61-48, but lost to the Knights, 80-29. Central completed a sweep of its outings with a 72-28 win over Hope.
Senior David Ogunronbi, who competes for the Townies in some events while also a member of the EPHS boys' basketball team, earned the lone individual win for the locals on the evening. He cleared a night-best 5 feet, 10 inches in the high jump.
