Francisco “Frank” Terceiro Canario, 84, of Bristol

Francisco “Frank” Terceiro Canario, 84, of Metacom Avenue passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2017, at Newport Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Silvia) Canario.   

Born in Bristol, he was the son of the late Manuel and Violente (Terceiro) Canario. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Adreana Canario, John Canario and his wife Kimberly, Elizabeth Hunt and her husband Hal; grandchildren, Christopher Canario, Zachary Canario, Benjamin Canario, Joshua Hunt, Sarah Hunt; and great-grandchildren, Madeleine Canario, Hayden Canario and Kimberly Canario. He was the brother of the late Manuel Canario.

Mr. Canario was a graduate of Colt Memorial High School, Class of 1951, Providence College and received a Master’s of Engineering Degree from URI.  He was an engineer for the State of Rhode Island for 29 years before retiring, and he previously worked for ITT and Kaiser. He was a Knights of Columbus 4th Degree as well as a member of the Bristol Train of Artillery and a Civil Defense & Ham Radio operator.

His funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 22, 10 a.m. from the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High St., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood St. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bristol.
