Former Warren town councilor arrested

Catherine Tattrie also charged with assaulting public employee

A Warren funderal director and former town council member has been charged by Rehoboth police with assaulting a public employee, operating under the influence, speeding and other charges after she was pulled over in Rehoboth last Friday, Nov. 10.

Catherine Tattrie, 51, of Rehoboth, is the managing director of Smith Funeral and Memorial Services in Warren. She served on the Warren Town Council from 2008 to 2014, and she spent many years leading the Warren Democratic Town Committee.

She was arrested after police officers in Rehoboth reportedly saw her vehicle veering across the road and driving in excess of 75 miles per hour on Moulton Street. After pulling her over at the intersection of Perryville Road and arresting her, police charged her with negligent operation, operating under the influence, speeding, assault and battery on a public employee and with marked lane violations.

According to Taunton District Court records, Ms. Tattrie is due in court Monday, Nov. 27, for a pre-trial conference.
