When it comes to hosting that perfect party, few folks, if any, would argue that anyone does it better than the Bev Williams led Aime J. Forand Tenants Association.

At least that was the consensus Sunday inside the Forand Complex’s Community Room that’s located on the Johnston Housing Authority property off Greenville Avenue.

And perhaps Williams, who serves as president of the Forand Tenants Association, said it best noting: “A good time was had by all!”

If a person liked camaraderie, Sunday’s annual Christmas Party had it all. If a person liked fantastic food, Sunday’s annual Christmas Party featured sumptuous servings prepared by famed Ralph’s Catering. If a person liked holiday music, a talented vocalist who performs under the name of “Mary Lou” put everyone in a festive mood.

If a person liked a small form of gambling, Sunday’s party had several raffles including a 50/50 brand that usually is a split the pot yet Williams wanted the winner to go home with a tidy sum of money she said totaled $275 that will probably buy some nice Christmas gifts for some special people.

“This (Christmas) party is always full of fun and special,” said Sen. Frank Lombardo, who made a brief experience. “Whenever you see Ralph’s Catering truck on site, you know the people are in for some great good … mini-feast.”

People inside the Forand Community Room did, in fact, enjoy a delicious dinner that included antipasto, soup, macaroni, chicken, carrots, coffee, cake and ice cream.

Moreover, the Tenants Association, which paid for Sunday’s Christmas Party by way of profits from bingos and other fund-raising events, made sure every resident left with a gift. For the women, there was bath and body lotions and gloves and for the men liquid hand soaps and socks.

Heading the list of special guest was David aRusso, Executive Director of the JHA and his wife Lori, State Rep. Deborah Fellela and Doug Jeffrey, Chief of Staff for Mayor Joseph Polisena.
