East Providence Police seek second suspect in school bus theft incident

Tiverton man is alleged to have participated in stealing over 30 vehicle batteries

EAST PROVIDENCE — In a release issued Monday afternoon, Oct. 30, the East Providence Police Department announced it has issued an arrest warrant for Tiverton man for his alleged participation in the theft of batteries from a school bus depot in city.

Shane L. Williams, 29, of Hayden Ave., Tiverton, is the second suspect being sought for his involved in the larceny of bus batteries that occurred last week at the Ocean State Bus Lines site on Commercial Way in East Providence. Previously, Edmund Pittsley, of Providence Street in Rehoboth, turned himself into police after he was alleged to have acted in the incident, which took place overnight on Wednesday, Oct. 25. The batteries were later recovered when a Pawtucket business owner alerted local authorities.

It is believed that Williams has fled the area and is operating Massachusetts registration 3TJ754 on a 2002 Toyota Avalon, color white. The arrest warrant is for Felony Larceny and Conspiracy.
