BOYS’ HOCKEY ATHLETE OF THE YEAR: Brandon Tanguay

Johnston/North Providence Co-op junior defenseman/forward Brandon Tanguay is the Sun Rise’s Boys’ Hockey Athlete of the Year.

Tanguay, who led JNP offensively during his sophomore season, dropped back to defense this winter to provide some stability on the blue line.

He did just that, but his offensive numbers didn’t take a hit because of the move.

Tanguay still led JNP in goals and points, posting 31 goals and 16 assists for 47 points – good for fifth in the state.
