Mock trial case involved bullying accusations

Members of the Barrington High School Mock Trial team successfully argued a case against students from Lincoln School during a recent mock trial event.

Barrington High School represented the defense during the mock trial, which involved a case of bullying accusations between two high school students, played by Alex Smith and Andy Green.

Barrington's Rachel Kovach-Fuentes, Lila Ackley and Emily Gorman played the roles of lawyers, while Amit Bhatia, Elana Sheinkopf and Clara Kugler played the parts of witnesses.

In the end, the mock trial judge decided in favor of Barrington.

"The trial was a success and the team is hoping their points will bring them to the playoffs," stated a press release from the team.

Barrington is a member of the Rhode Island Mock Trial League. Greg Carrara is the coach of the Barrington High School team, and juniors Josephine Kuo and Emily Gorman are the team captains. Kelly Kaon is the team's correspondent.
