Two timely goals and stout defense lead by goalkeeper Caleigh Durkin helped Barrington defeat Moses Brown, 2-0, at Gaudet Field in the D-I semifinals on Friday night.

Senior forward Lily Gagliano shot the ball past Quakers goalkeeper Andie Stallman to score the Eagles first goal, 23 minutes into the first half. The Eagles offense became energized from the goal and put the pressure on for the remainder of the half, but were unable to score.

In the second half, the vaunted Moses Brown offense came alive and put the pressure on Barrington producing 16 corners. But Durkin and her sturdy defense stopped every one. Durkin recorded seven saves on the night. "Caleigh played phenomenal," said coach Holly Morris, "she's very athletic. She has a great head on her shoulders and she gets it."

Freshman midfielder Maeve Harrington put the icing on the cake by beating Stallman for the Eagles second goal in the second half.

"Moses Brown is a great team and we knew they were going to be tough coming in. We have a gutsy group of girls who really want it and work very hard to get it," said coach Morris.

Barrington will face East Greenwich for the Division I Championship on Sunday, Oct. 30 at Roger Williams College at 2 p.m.
