I decided for the summer that I would only do a review once or twice a month maybe a best out of four. This week we had two parties to go to so I had no plans of doing a review. I changed my mind after I had tasted the food at my brother-in-laws retirement party. It was so good I just had to tell you about it. My sister-in-law Tracey hired the catering company Mickey G’s Clamshack. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the food was. Mickey shows up with a very cool red trailer, which gives you the feeling you are at a carnival. Unfortunately, the way the yard was set up Mickey could not serve out of the trailer. No fear Mickey has everything he needs to set up without it, a tarp, large grill and extra large crock-pots. The menu consisted of hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, white or red clam chowder and clam cakes.

I have to be honest I did not try the hamburgers and the red chowder, only because I did not want to make a pig out of myself. The white chowder was rich, creamy, and full of claims. The clam cakes were fantastic, moist and not greasy at all. The fries were a nice size and cooked well. I was full but felt I just had to try a hot dog. It was definitely a quality hot dog. I was so impressed. My sister in-law said it was about $10 per person with all the paper goods included. Therefore, worth it, this would be so great for a neighborhood block party, so I grabbed his card and checked out his website.

The website states Mickey G’s Clamshack is a unique catering service specializing in clambakes and clam boils, which can be customized to your liking. He can accommodate backyard parties of a minimum of 30 family and friends as well as small and large company outing including 400 plus guest. He caters all kinds of fundraiser events for churches, schools and boy scouts etc. He is also a food vendor for festivals and concerts.
